Robot detecs shrapnel in human body

Scientists at Duke University of USA have built a robot that can autonomously locate pieces of metal in human flesh and guide a needle to the correct location. The procedure requires first vibrating the metal pieces by an electromagnet thus enabling the robot to detect the motion. After that, the robot advances the needle to the correct location of the metal. All this has been done with no advanced robotic equipment or artificial intelligence software, thus magnifying hopes for applying the same safe procedures in the future for more variety of things.
